Cropped pants have quickly become a fashion trend I’m pretty sure is here to stay! For one, I’m a shoe-a-holic, and when wearing cropped pants it gives me the chance to see my shoes that much better, lol!! But in all seriousness, people tend to shy away from them because they are unsure how to style them. Today I’m going to share some easy and affordable ways to style cropped pants and jeans that will make you say “why didn’t I think of that!”
First up, I’m going to show you a couple pairs of jeans that won’t break the bank and are figure flattering! (Keep in mind, if you are very petite you will most likely have to take the jeans to be hemmed if you want them to fall at the right length that is flattering for your frame). This first pair of jeans however have a raw hem, so if you don’t like where they fall, you can easily cut them to your desired length! This pair of cropped jeans are wide leg and high rise, a definite win in my book! Oh, and they are under $25, and also come in black (I have both colors since I love the fit so much).
I am wearing the size 14 which is my normal size in this brand. The jeans have just the right amount of stretch too. To balance out the wide leg all you need to do is wear a form fitting shirt on top. You can easily pair the jeans with a long duster or kimono like I did too, as long as you keep one element more form fitting like I did with the cropped sleeveless mock neck tank. I chose to wear a plaid duster for fall and finished the look with my closed toe kitten heel mules that you’ll absolutely love! In the second look, I simply added a more fitted blouse and did a half-tuck! I finished the outfit with open toe booties, so easy and chic!
Next up is a pair of of cropped wide leg jeans with distressed hems that I just adore! The jeans are also high rise but this pair is 100% cotton, so I did size up. I absolutely love my distressed jeans, so naturally these were a must buy and they are affordable too 🙌🏻
I wore the jeans with a fitted tank with button details (only $10 and so fun) along with another plaid dress that I’m styling as a duster too! I love when pieces serve double duty. I finished the look again with my open toe booties.
The take away point here is when wearing these pants, keep the top more fitted and don’t be afraid to wear fun footwear! For fall I love open toe booties like these and these or mules like these and these.
