The family and I vacationed in California for 11 days and it was amazing! This was the first time all 6 of us have taken a big adventure including a 4 hour plane trip which I was quite worried about! I already have a fear of dying during take off (thank you Final Destination), but I was very worried how our VERY active 4 year old would do! Surprisingly, he loved the take off and did pretty good on both flights there and back. We visited the bathroom on the plane probably 15 times in total! I swear, it’s like his bladder is the size of a pea, lol!!
So now, let’s talk Fashion! I know Cali has a wonderful climate of mostly 70’s and 80’s so I mostly packed dresses and lightweight pants. I brought the pants for our Disney trips and for the plane rides.
Most of the first part of the trip was spent at the beach, so I decided to wear my off the shoulder floral swimsuit. I can’t believe how many people came up to me to tell me they loved this suit! And best of all, they loved the price- it’s under $20, shop it here and here. One of the ones I linked is only $10, but sizes are really limited in my exact color, but other colors are available, shop it here.
I paired the suit with my black sarong you can shop here, also very affordable and perfect with every suit! My shoes I wore almost the entire vacation were these studded under $20 sandals (similar here).
This off the shoulder tassel dress seen below is so colorful and screams vacation vibes, it was my second most complimented on outfit!! Oh, and it’s only $18!! It also comes in plus size available here. I’m wearing the size Large for reference ladies.
I also wore this beautiful floral print maxi dress that also happens to be off the shoulder and only $25! It’s so comfortable and has a subtly sexy slit too! Trust me ladies you’ll want this dress!!
We met up with my dad and sister while in Cali and went to the San Diego Zoo together! Here, I wore my most purchased outfit ever from Instagram! Like my swimsuit, I received so many compliments on this outfit! The harem pants are the most comfortable pant I’ve ever worn (even my 13 year old had me order her a pair)! They also come in a gray color as well. They are so unbelievably soft and fit true to size (meant to be a bit baggy too)!
I paired the harem pant with a floral kimono, similar here and here, a crop tank (similar here and here), and then the same studded sandals as above. The outfit was a total hit and chances are you’ll see this one on major repeat!!
We visited Disneyland and the California Adventure Park too, both days were crazy hot (85!!!). I should have worn shorts, but only packed gauzy pants, so that was what I wore! The pants were comfy at least, and dried quickly after getting soaked from the water rides (which felt so good anyway)! Both pants I wore were from last year, but their similar styles this season can be found here and here! I wore cropped tanks for just a peek of skin (this one has cute Pom Pom details on it). And guess what, I wore those same studded sandals again!! Yes my feet were sore after walking the parks, BUT so were everyone else’s including those who wore their tennis shoes! Last, but not least, the outfit was completed with a kimono. If you don’t own one, you seriously should! Target has some great options as does Forever 21, H&M, and TJ MAXX to name a few of my fave stores. Here, here, and here are just a few of my affordable picks!
Overall, besides a few meltdowns from my 4 year old (and a couple of my own) the trip was a success!! We can’t wait to go back and visit again someday, especially the resort we stayed at in Oxnard, it was so beautiful!!
