The Midi Dress Style

I love dresses, all colors, all styles, all prints, I just adore them. Once warm weather is here to stay, chances are if you run into me out and about that is what you will find me in. My all time favorite style is the midi. I am pretty sure this length is the most figure flattering (the maxi a close second if not maybe a tie, lol). But for today’s post I am focusing on my most recent (still all available to shop) midi dresses.

So, why do I like this style? Well first off, I am a curvier gal and the midi length falls just below the knee a couple of inches at a flattering area on my legs which in turn makes me look taller and leaner. Plus I can add my fave heels and unlike when wearing a maxi dress, the midi dress shows off my gorgeous footwear! Oh, and there’s the what I like to call ‘bend over test’— I can most definitely bend over, pick up my 4 year old, grab an item from the floor, and I don’t have to worry about the rest of the people around me getting a show, lol!

So of course, every midi dress I am going to share with you is under $50. Also, each one can be paired with a blazer or denim jacket so you can wear it during more seasons with a change of footwear. Just because a striped midi dress is sold in the spring does NOT mean you can’t throw a blazer over your shoulders and add a pair of closed toe booties and rock it in the fall too!!! (Lots of options ladies)!!

First up is that aforementioned striped dress. So many reasons to love this. Its flattering, the colors are so beautiful, the stripes are just plain FUN, and there’s the under $30 price tag of course. Check out how I paired it with my pink block heels you can shop here or here.

Next up is the great black midi dress with cut out detail at the bust and tie detail. It also has functioning buttons that can be undone to show some leg, bonus! This dress can be dressed up very easily with the right jewelry and shoes so that it can be worn to a wedding or special event. Oh, and did I mention it has pockets (woo-hoo).

I am a brand ambassador for a cute boutique in TN called Poppies Boutique. This is where the yellow striped dress below can be found. Yellow is my absolute fave color, plus add stripes and pockets, well then I am just in love!! I also love the vibes this dress gives off—kind of a vintage-y style, don’t you agree. Oh, and this dress can also be worn backwards too like I did below. Gotta love when a dress can be worn multiple ways! Use my personal code: REPNICOLE10 for an additional discount, even on sale prices too. Here’s their website to shop, www.popptiesboutiquetn.com

Last up is this polka dot midi dress. This definitely gives me pin-up, vintage vibes. The bust also has a tie detail and a small cut out AND pockets. So much goodness all for under $30. This one too, just like others mentioned above has buttons that can be left undone to show some extra leg if you’re feeling sassy! I finished the look with some cute colorful earrings and my block heels you can shop here! (these heels go with every single outfit ladies and are easy to walk in)!!

As always, thanks for following along on my blogging journey! I always appreciate reading your comments and love hearing from you. Don’t hesitate to ask any questions here or DM me on Instagram. I will happily share links or help you find what you are looking for, I love what I do and love to help YOU too!!

  1. Midi dresses are actually some of my faves to wear. They are the perfect length, making them appropriate for so many occasions, including work!

  2. Want to know something crazy? I don’t own a single midi dress. I’m so short and have such a rectangle figure that I feel like most midis cut me off in a weird spot. I love them on you though!! Maybe I’ll try again this summer.

  3. I wish I can wear the midi style as well as you can. I am fairly short so the midi length tends to make me look even shorter.

  4. Midi lengths are my favorites too! They’re more classic and fun without feeling dated. The only trick though for me is that they have to be a very specific length because I’m short, otherwise they make me look shorter and stumpy. I love these dresses here!

  5. I am very tall so I LOVE midi dresses – they are so comfortable and versatile! Love that yellow one!

  6. Midi dresses are always a good idea for me because I have such a long and thin frame! I love the way they sit on me because I don’t feel like I’m wearing an XL tee shirt haha! These are so cute – especially the solid black one and the polka dot one!
