Hey!!! I just worked out for 25 minutes on the elliptical then ran up to my bedroom to weigh myself and I didn’t lose a single damn pound (what the &@%*) Anyone else like me and want results immediately?! I’m really bad at waiting! The internet is running is really slow tonight (stupid Comcast 👉🏼 I’ve probably said that a billion times last year- – and I’m an 80’s child, I grew up with dial up, I should be thankful for high speed, lol). Then I’m in the McDonalds Drive thru at noon ordering a breakfast sandwich and hash brown because hello all day breakfast is awesome 👏🏻BUT wait, they tell me to pull ahead to parking spot one and WAIT because they need to finish frying the hash brown and egg for me??? Um hello, if I wanted to wait 10 minutes in spot #1 I’d go to my local restaurant and order off their sit down menu!!! Grrrr—- (it was probably only a 6 minute wait, but still)!!!! Read On👉🏼👉🏼
Anyway, all my blogger friends are writing about their 2018 goals and resolutions and I’m over here trying to remember if I had even made goals for last year, and if I did, did I even accomplish them?!?!
So here’s why I am not making any resolutions this year 👉🏼 I can barely keep track of what my grocery list items are or what I had for dinner two nights ago (anyone else with me)?? So this year, I am having the new and improved mindset of just living day to day and trying my best to be more positive and patient (because darn it, I’m good enough). And speaking of being good enough, I definitely need to stop comparing myself to others so much, it can really affect my mindset and get me down!
Now don’t get me wrong, I most certainly do have goals I would like to accomplish:
-I’d love to lose about 20lbs (some of my jeans are a bit too constricting after the holidays
-I’d like to spend less money on things I don’t really need and save more for retirement (this is my hubby’s #1 goal for me)
-I’d like to grow my blog and Instagram engagement & following (are you following me yet, I’d love if you would) ❤️
-I’d love to actually sell the 500 items on Poshmark that are sitting bagged up in a corner waiting for me to take pics and post👉🏼 they may be vintage by the time I get around to posting 😂
So you see, these are just a few of the many things I’d like to accomplish, but I’m not calling them resolutions! Instead I’m working on these things and many more every. single. dang. day!!!!
I’m working on reducing my stress level too. I let things bother me waaaaay too much!! I think I’m actually losing hair from the stress I’m causing myself (for real). Most of you know I was laid off back in August of last year, right around my birthday, happy birthday to me right!?!? I really had a very, very difficult time after getting laid off, so much so that I found myself really sad and very stressed. In the end however, it was a blessing in disguise. I have now found a better more enjoyable job. Everything seems to work out in the end right? So all in all, I’m working on becoming more positive since I can’t control everything, as much as I’ve tried!!
For my blog in 2018, my hope is that you follow me on my journey and if you already are, thank you!!! I plan to continue to focus on fashion and beauty and hopefully some fun and exciting travel posts as well. I’d love to incorporate my entire family each month too on a few posts involving fashion and travel (because we all know documenting family vacations is always a riot right)!!
